آں عزمِ بلند آور آں سوزِ جگر آور

Aan azm-e-buland aavar aan soz-e-jigar aavar

شمشیرِ پدر خواہی بازوے پدر آور

Shamshir-e-pidar khwahi bazoo-e-pidar aavar

Bring that high resolve, bring that burning passion of the heart
If you desire the sword of your father, bring the arm of your father

Context

This couplet, rich in Persian influence, serves as a powerful call to action, urging the recipient to internalize the qualities of their predecessor rather than merely seeking material inheritance. It emphasizes that true legacy lies not in physical objects like a father's sword, but in embodying his high resolve, burning passion, and inherent strength. This theme resonates deeply within South Asian poetic traditions, particularly those that champion self-reliance, valor, and the moral duty to uphold ancestral virtues, often found in inspirational and nation-building poetry.
