Hai khalq-e-hasad qamaash ladne ke liye ●sher 1 of 2

Hai khalq-e-hasad qamaash ladne ke liye

Wahshat kada-e-talaash ladne ke liye

People of envious nature are for fighting.
A wilderness of search is for fighting.

Yaani har baar soorat-e-kaaghaz-e-baad

Milte hain yeh badmaash ladne ke liye

Meaning, every time like a kite,
These scoundrels meet to fight.

Context

This Urdu quatrain (rubai) offers a cynical commentary on human nature, specifically those driven by envy and a relentless propensity for conflict. The imagery of the "envious kind" and "rascals" who perpetually meet to fight suggests a recurring and perhaps futile cycle of contention. The simile "like a paper kite" (صورت کاغذ باد) might imply that these individuals are easily swayed, lack genuine substance in their struggles, or are caught in a relentless, directionless wind of conflict, highlighting the futility or superficiality of their persistent belligerence.
